Pikes can really live long lives. At the end of 18th century, during cleaning works of ponds in Tsaritsyno, nearMoscow, a bred pike was caught that had a golden ring stuck in its gill cover, which had a sign that the fish was put in the pond by Tsar Boris Fedorovych. It is known that Boris Godunov died in 1605, therefore, it is assumed that the pike lived about 200 years.
